Fairfax does happy hour a little differently than a downtown bar district. You can find everything from neighborhood pubs to polished restaurant bars—and plenty of options where happy hour can turn into dinner without changing locations.
Here are a few places worth putting on your local list.
JINYA Ramen Bar
At Mosaic, JINYA combines ramen, small plates and a full beverage program. Its Fairfax location currently lists happy hour daily from 3–5 p.m., with discounted food and drinks. JINYA Ramen Bar - Fairfax
It's an easy choice when your group wants something more substantial than bar snacks.
bartaco
bartaco in Mosaic offers weekday “High Tide” happy hour at the bar from 3–6 p.m., with additional late-night availability Monday through Thursday.
Tacos, drinks and a lively setting make this a natural after-work stop.
The Auld Shebeen
For something more traditional, The Auld Shebeen brings an Irish-pub atmosphere to Old Town Fairfax. Happy hour and weekly specials are part of its regular programming, making it a useful option when you want dinner, drinks and a little more atmosphere in the same stop.
Crafthouse
Crafthouse at Fairfax Corner is the bigger, more energetic option. Think craft beer, cocktails, sports and a broad food menu. Its published happy-hour timing varies by source, so check the location's current promotion before heading over.
High Side
High Side is a different kind of happy-hour stop, pairing craft beer with Taiwanese-inspired small plates. Its current happy hour is Tuesday through Thursday, 4–7 p.m., for dine-in guests.
The bigger takeaway: Fairfax has enough variety that happy hour doesn't have to mean the same neighborhood bar every Thursday.
